Olga Nicolaou Vasiliou, 93, of Rosemary St. in New London passed away Sat. July 28, 2012 in New London. She was born on August 18, 1918, in Greece, the daughter of Spiros and Kaleopie Nicolaou. Mrs. Vasiliou was married in 1924 in Greece to her late husband Alexander A. Vasiliou who passed away in 1987. She came to the United States in 1969, and had been a long time member of the St. Sophia Church in New London; and was completely devoted to, and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her survivors include 3 daughters Sophia Giotis, Koula and Kosta Tsakmakidou, Eleni and George Vourtsis, 4 sons, Konstantinos, George A. and Danuta , Arthur and Anastasia , Peter and Grace Williams, 19 Grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. She had also been predeceased by a son in law Leo Giotis, her sister Polyxeny Giotis and a brother Leo Nicolaou. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wed. Aug 1, at the St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church in New London, with a visiting hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 am at the St. Sophia Church. Her burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London.
