Esther Ellis GALES FERRY - Esther Ellis, 84, loving wife and mother, of 1 Washington Dr.,Gales Ferry, CT formerly of Boston, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Fairview in Groton.. Esther was born in St. Catharine, Jamaica and grew up in the Kingstown where she met her late husband Edward Ellis. She immigrated to the United States in 1984 seeking an opportunity to better the lives her children. Esther was generous of spirit and all who ever met her loved her instantly. If you visited her home more than twice, you were considered part of the family. A devoted believer in Christ, she was involved in all aspects of church life at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Boston, Ma. until she grew ill. She is preceded by her husband, Edward; her brother, Sidney Davis; and her sister Lelieth Davis. Esther is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Haughton, her husband, Albert and their son Christopher of Gales Ferry; her Son, Dean Ellis, his wife Veronica and their sons David, Daniel, and Doron of Boston Ma.; and her son Kenneth Ellis of Boston, Ma.; and several nieces and nephews. The family sends its undying gratitude to the staff of the Fairview Home for the care and attention that they provided to Esther. The funeral service will be held 12 Noon on Thursday, April 5th, at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, CT with a visiting hour from 11:00 to 12 Noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in Avery-Stoddard Cemetery in Gales Ferry.
