Barbara Bucher, 83, of 1145Poquonnock Rd. in Groton passed away on March 8, 2012 at the Groton Regency. She was born on Nov. 1, 1928 in Norwich the daughter of George and Ruth Carver O’Brien. Her survivors include a daughter Deborah LaCoursiere of Groton, a son and daughter in law Ronald and Carol Yates of New London, 3 sisters Patricia Tasca of East Lyme, Jean Chapman of Norwich, Carol Haugstead of Minnesota, 3 brothers David and Michael O’Brien both of Waterford, George O’Brien of Florida, 2 grandchildren Meghan and Patrick of Groton. She had also been predeceased by a sister Janice Haney. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Monday at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Jefferson Ave. in New London. Byles- Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. is assisting her family with the arrangements.
